I chose to photograph a soccer ball that was left in the dirt next to the sidewalk because a soccer ball symbolizes multiple people playing soccer together.
I got my idea from looking up the phrase and searching through some photos and I found some that were of things left or dropped on a sidewalk or street. I kept that in mind and then I discovered the soccer ball and though it was perfect.
